Transform Boundaries
Transform boundaries happen where two plates slide past together. The plates move in opposite directions or in the same direction at different speed. When one plate slides past another plate suddenly, an earthquake happens. The Pacific is sliding past the North American Plate making the San Andreas Fault in California. Most transform boundaries are found on the ocean floor. The most famous transform boundary is the San Andreas Fault, the Pacific Plate which carries part of California is moving past the North American Plate which carries the rest of California.
